Nevada Respite Training Site

The National Respite Care Provider Training is an online training program that consists of ten courses for individuals interested in providing respite care. These courses provide information to meet the Respite Care Professionals Core Competencies. The core competencies are meant to serve as a baseline for entry-level respite care professionals. Additional training may be required depending on the unique needs of the care recipient and their family, along with the regulations in your state.

Thank you for visiting the Nevada Training Site. We're excited to welcome you to the community of future respite providers in training. The Nevada Respite Care Provider training is designed for people who are interested in providing care to individuals with a “chronic or other health condition, disability, or functional limitation”. 

The Nevada Training Site offers a variety of FREE online trainings courses for anyone in the community such as friends, family, neighbors, faith-based members, and professionals in the field to build knowledge and skills on a variety of topics when providing care. The training is designed for people who are interested in providing respite care to individuals with varying disabilities and ages across the lifespan. Participants can work at their own pace to complete the ten required online courses, stopping and starting as needed. There is no cost for the courses in this program.

These courses provide information to meet the Respite Care Professionals Core Competencies. The core competencies are meant to serve as a baseline for entry-level respite care professionals and/or for those who just want to learn more. Additional training may be required depending on the unique needs of the care recipient and their family, along with state or program specific regulations. Participants can work at their own pace to complete 10 educational course series at no cost to you! 

Upon completion of the Respite Care Provider training, participants will be offered the opportunity to be added to the Nevada Respite Care Registry, available to primary caregivers to search for respite care providers in their community.
